The title of today’s sermon is, Bricks for Stones.

 Some time ago I listened to a message with a reference to “Churchianity”.  And I thought, what an interesting word that is.

 Just what is “Churchianity”?  

 We know that “Christianity” is the study and practice of the teachings of Jesus of Nazareth – it is “Christ” – “ianity”.

 In the same way “Churchianity” is the study and practice of the teachings of the Church – it is “Church” – “ianity”.

 John 4:23 declares that,  '… the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him.

 The English word Worship comes from and old English word meaning worthiness.

 The concept of worship is an integral part of the human consciousness.

 That is to say that the need to worship might well be built into the human soul.

The prophet Ezekiel, in the 6^th century before Christ, was called to deliver a message of warning to the nation of Israel that they needed to turn back to God or He would withdraw His protection from them.  

 Without the protection of Almighty God, Israel was overcome by her enemies.

 Had they heeded the warning and turned away from their idols of silver and gold, God would have covered them with an impenetrable blanket of protection and nourished them with divine blessings.
