The Lord My Strength

Exodus 15:2 The LORD is my strength and song, And He has become my salvation; He is my God, and I will praise Him; My father's God, and I will exalt Him.

Many years ago I was asked by a fellow believer what I considered to be my greatest strength as a Christian.

When I told him that I thought integrity was my greatest Christian strength he said, “I believe that the Holy Spirit is telling me that this is a problem”.

Integrity

James 1:16-18  “Do not be deceived, my beloved brethren. Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.Of His own will He brought us forth by the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of His creatures.”

Last week we looked at what virtue is and where it comes from.

Virtue

Phil 4:8 says, “… whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there is any virtue, and if there is anything praiseworthy, meditate on these things.”

All the “things” mentioned in this verse can be summed up in one word – “virtue”.
