The Bride Of Christ

I will greatly rejoice in the Lord, My soul shall be joyful in my God;

For He has clothed me with the garments of salvation, He has covered me with the robe of righteousness, As a bridegroom decks himself with ornaments, And as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.  Isaiah 61:10

 

In Gen 2:7 we learn that man was formed from dust (yatsar: fashioned) by a “creator” for His own pleasure. 

 

And Proverbs 16:4 tells us that God made all things for Himself.

Eph 6:12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.

 

Man is in a battle for his soul and without Jesus the battle would be lost.

Salt Of The Earth

Matthew 5:13  "You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and  trampled underfoot by men.

 

Behavior follows belief.

 

Throughout the Bible, God has described Himself in terms of virtues that all people are drawn to – Almighty, Merciful, Patient, Faithful, Truthful, Good, Trustworthy. 

 

Together, these attributes add up to Holiness.

A Fast That Honors God
